In this intensive course, you will learn the basic techniques of building a shoe manually. Through the approach of thematic as the types of leathers, the essential tools, the direct drawing in form, the assembly and finishes.
The participants will be trained with the basic and general notions of the components, parts, and stages of construction of a flat-mount shoe.
Awakening interest in this ancient art wants only as a form of general knowledge, or as a gateway to the creation of activity in the field.
This course is part of the activities of the Slow Fashion Innovation Program and can be used to create the prototyping that will be shown at our exhibitions.

The teacher Paulo Silveira Pereira is graduated in Design of equipment by the Faculty of Fine Arts of Lisbon. In 2013 he created the brand Saccus, which is dedicated to the design of footwear and leather goods for the male segment. The brand focuses on linking contemporary design with industry traditions and integrating new raw materials and technologies into its collections. He is professor and coordinator of the Footwear Design course at the Lisbon School of Design and trainer of the Fashion Accessories module at the Fashion Design course at the World Academy.
